Georgia Southern University Wireless Internet Access

The Network Services team has been implementing a new wireless technology that will standardize the university's wireless infrastructure. This technology allows us to provide you with a higher, more reliable quality of service.

This implementation allows us to manage the entire wireless network from one, centralized point. Network Services will also have the tools necessary to identify and resolve any wireless connectivity issues quickly and effectively. Combined with a proactive strategy, we are also able to identify and prevent potential problems before they happe

Georgia Southern offers two types of connections. One for Georgia Southern users and one for visitors to the campus. Below are links to guides for each type of user.

  • Q: What is the difference between the two wireless networks?

    A: The internal network requires each user to authenticate. Once authenticated, you can access resources behind the campus firewall (internal web servers, applications, network drives, etc.). The public wireless connection is for users who are visiting and do no have authentication credentials. These users cannot access internal resources.
